Forget what I said in my first impressions post.
Colfer took a lot of things WAY too far. 1 cow begging to be eaten once or twice (Begging, not the eating) in Restaurant At The End Of The Universe  is funny, a whole heard not shutting up about how they taste so good is not funny. Also the Flaybooz. Not funny either after too many times. The Guide Notes are interruptive at best, and Colfer lacks Adams’ ability to go off on incredible tangents in all directions and bring them all back together in the end. The Vogons were not well done either.
I’ll leave the rest for my full review.

I thought it was very funny, I found myself almost – almost – forgetting that Adams did not write this one. The first chapter went through a bit of a recap of the story so far, which I found nice, because it’s been a year or two since I’ve read the other 5. But I did find that it lacked the ‘can’t put it down’ quality that the first few had, but maybe that will come back after I get farther in. I also felt that Random Dent’s character was a little off in this book, but that was the only discrepancy that I noticed. I expect the remainder of the book to be a good – if not great – end to Hitchiker’s

Ever plugged in a new USB removable storage device, and been disappointed with the default icon and name?

Well, by creating a small file Autorun.inf you can change the icon, name, and the Autoplay options when you plug in your device.

Let’s begin by opening notepad, or your text editor of choice. I’ll be using a freshly formatted flash drive of mine.

There. Now, let’s find the icon that you want to use. For Windows, it will be a .ico file. For simplicity, lets save that as icon.ico  on the root of your drive

Then, back to the notepad window, begin typing.  The file should read as follows

[Autorun]

icon=icon.ico

label=*name of your device*

Replace *name of your device* with the name of your device.

Other options are

open=*program here.exe*

Replace *program here.exe* with the name of an .exe program located at the root of the drive.

action=*program name here*

Replace *program name here* with the name of the program in the option above.

Save the file as Autorun.inf to the root of your drive. Make sure you select All Files from the dropdown menu above the file name.

Eject the drive, and plug it back in. If everything worked, you should get something like this.

If it didn’t work, go back and try it again.

If it did work, congratulations! Your device has  a name and icon that will go with it to whatever (Windows) machine you plug it in to.

This will work with memory cards, and portable hard drives as well.

1. Do not, unless under emergency circumstances say “Oh, I’m about a thousand words short, but I’ll catch up tomorrow” If you start doing this, you will do this tomorrow, and the next day, and you’ll get terribly behind.
2. write every day. Well, this kinda falls under the first one, but oh well.
3. Do not write  all of your words for the day at one time. It’s not fun. Write a few in the morning, a few in the afternoon, and a few at night. Or something like that.
4. Do word wars. Follow @NaNoWordSprints on twitter to get, you guessed it, word sprints directly from the NaNo staff. You can also follow other people who are doing NaNo to get word wars. There’s a great list of NaNo people on twitter here http://twitter.com/simplywriting/nanowrimo
5. If you tell yourself that you’re going to write 5,000 words tomorrow, write 5,000 words tomorrow.
6. The “Week 2 Blues”? More like the 12k-20k blues. I firmly believe that it’s not week two, but that point in your novel where you have no idea where you’re going.

Again, your mileage may and probably will vary.
